Job Description

Job description: We're a growing, well-established specialty chemical manufacturer with 50 years of history in the Chicago area. We're hiring an experienced accounts payable and purchasing professional to keep our purchasing, AP, and payroll operations running smoothly. This is a high-trust role with visibility into company financials — we're looking for someone with a proven track record of discretion and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Create and track purchase orders with vendors; manage delivery schedules and pricing Process invoices and run weekly accounts payable check runs Reconcile bank and credit card activity monthly File Illinois sales tax and manage recurring journal entries Run bi-weekly payroll and administer employee benefits enrollment Maintain employee files and onboard new hires Coordinate freight/BOLs for outbound shipments Manage purchase orders and invoicing for a key drop-ship distribution partner
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in accounts payable, purchasing, or bookkeeping, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting Proficiency with QuickBooks and payroll software (Paychex experience a plus) Strong track record of trustworthiness and confidentiality with financial information Excellent organizational skills; comfortable juggling recurring deadlines Hazmat shipping certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, in-office
Pay:
$63,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
