Manufacturing Full Job Description Position Overview:
The plant operator will be responsible for mixing and blending ingredients, loading/unloading rail cars and trucks, and other miscellaneous tasks required to produce liquid animal feed.
Job Duties:
Below is a list of essential duties of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Operate the boiler per the seasonal demands of production. Operate pumps, valves, and tanks to mix ingredients and blend liquid feed. Test all finished products and inbound ingredients. Use a forklift, as needed, to move ingredients. Load and unload bulk liquid trucks and railcars. Maintain an accurate inventory of all raw ingredients. Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping around facility. Interact and communicate with customers and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Basic computer skills & comfortable with basic mathematics Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to read and complete documents and other paperwork Ability to change duties throughout the day and to work with a variety of individuals Legally able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year manufacturing experience Mechanically inclined with ability and skill in using boiler, hand/power tools, and production equipment (pumps, valves, pipelines, tanks, and laboratory equipment)
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Ability to wear safety equipment, including safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and similar equipment Comfortable in a variety of weather conditions, including rain/snow and heat/cold Comfortable in a manufacturing environment with noise/vibration, fumes, or moving mechanical parts This position involves standing/walking for up to 100% of the day and climbing/crouching/crawling/stooping/reaching with hands and arms up to 25% of the workday. Frequently the employee is required to push, pull, lift, twist, carry and/or exert force up to 50 pounds.
