Job Title:
General Production Worker - Electronic Assembly Job Description This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You will work with small components, precision hand tools, and PC boards to build high-quality electronic products while maintaining strong attention to detail throughout your shift. Responsibilities Assemble electronic switches and components according to detailed instructions and quality standards. Handle and work with small parts, consistently demonstrating strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Use hand tools and power tools to build and assemble various component parts. Place and secure components onto printed circuit boards (PC boards) with precision and care. Gather and organize all materials, parts, and tools needed to complete assigned assemblies. Work at an individual workstation while standing or sitting for extended periods during the shift. Inspect assembled parts visually and by feel to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications. Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment. Meet daily production expectations while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail. Collaborate with team members and follow directions with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for completing assigned tasks. Essential Skills Experience working with small parts and components, demonstrating strong hand-eye dexterity. Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively for assembly work. Capability to place and assemble components onto printed circuit boards (PC boards). Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with precision parts and assemblies. Ability to stand or sit for most of the shift while working at an individual station. Willingness and ability to work significant overtime, currently 3-4 hours of overtime daily (approximately 50-60 hours per week). Flexibility to work 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) with openness to starting as early as 5:30 a.m., or 2nd shift (3:45 p.m.-12:15 a.m.), depending on business needs. Basic familiarity with electronic assembly processes or related production work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Solder certification is a plus and may enhance your qualifications for the role. Experience with soldering in an electronic assembly environment is highly beneficial. Experience with pick-and-place equipment is a plus and may positively influence compensation. Prior experience as an electronic assembler or in a similar manufacturing role is an advantage. Comfort working independently at a workstation while meeting production goals. Why Work Here? The culture is relaxed but results-oriented, with the expectation that you understand your tasks and complete them reliably without constant direction. Current openings include 1st shift (6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., with openness to a 5:30 a.m. start) and 2nd shift (3:45 p.m.-12:15 a.m.), and most employees can expect 3-4 hours of overtime daily, resulting in approximately 50-60 hours per week. The facility conducts temperature checks and health screening questions upon arrival and again near the end of the shift to support a safe and healthy workplace. Dress expectations align with a typical manufacturing setting, emphasizing safety and practicality while working around tools, equipment, and electronic components. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
