Job Title:

General Production Worker Vehicle Detailer Job Description This role focuses on cleaning and detailing a wide variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. You will help ensure each vehicle is thoroughly cleaned inside and out, supporting overall production flow in an indoor car wash and detailing environment.

Responsibilities :

Clean and detail a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and SUVs. Wash and clean vehicle exteriors, ensuring a high-quality finish. Clean windows and windshields to remove streaks, smudges, and debris. Wipe down seats, dashboards, and interior surfaces to maintain a clean and polished appearance. Vacuum vehicle interiors, including floors, mats, and trunk areas. Perform general production and general labor tasks as needed to support overall operations. Assist with assembly or basic production-related activities when required. Operate car wash and related machinery safely and efficiently. Use hand tools and equipment to complete detailing and production tasks. Inspect vehicles after cleaning to ensure quality standards are met. Follow established procedures and safety guidelines in the detailing and production areas. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.

Essential Skills :

Experience or strong interest in automotive detailing, including interior and exterior cleaning (preferred but not required). Ability to perform general production, general labor, and basic assembly tasks. Capability to operate machines and equipment used in car washing and detailing. Comfort using hand tools and basic equipment in a production environment. Strong attention to detail when cleaning and inspecting vehicles. Willingness to learn new tasks and follow established processes. Reliable work ethic with a focus on quality and consistency. Motivation to grow within a company and take on additional responsibilities over time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications :

Previous experience in automotive detailing or car wash operations is preferred. Background in production, general labor, assembly, machine operation, or inspection is beneficial. Openness to training and learning new skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfort working in varying temperatures due to open bay doors. Work Environment:

The role is based in an indoor car wash and detailing area with open bay doors, resulting in a hot environment during the summer and a cold environment in the winter. The standard schedule is first shift, running Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime extending the day until 5:00 p.m. Weekly hours typically cap at around 50, and Saturdays are generally avoided but may occasionally be required. The work involves hands-on production and detailing tasks using machines, equipment, and hand tools in a busy, active facility. Attire should be practical and suitable for a production and car wash setting where you may get wet or dirty during the course of the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
