Who You Are The ideal Shift Miller is a dependable, detail-oriented professional with strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. What You ll Do As a Shift Miller , you will operate and maintain the flour mill under the direction of the Head Miller while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. You will play a critical role in supporting daily milling operations and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Operating and managing flour mill and cleaning house activities during your assigned shift Running milling equipment at optimal performance levels to achieve maximum yields Maintaining wheat and flour inventories to required specifications Troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed Ensuring compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation requirements, and all food safety standards Maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment Completing production reports and following all standard operating procedures (SOPs) Participating in required training and development programs Serving as backup for the Head Miller and/or Mill Operator when needed Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and equipment performance Performing other duties as assigned What We re Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred Previous supervisory experience preferred Ability to pass a respirator fit test and perform job duties while wearing a respirator Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision Understanding of material flow and manufacturing processes Strong organizational and communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer applications Mechanical aptitude and a commitment to continuous learning Why Join Mennel?
