POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of tea bagging, leaf filling, and labeling equipment to ensure the consistent production of high-quality finished goods. This role performs machine setup, routine and preventative maintenance, quality inspections, and accurate production documentation in accordance with company standards, SQF requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The Production Operator maintains ownership of product quality, supports daily production targets, ensures a clean and organized work environment, and contributes to a safe manufacturing facility through adherence to safety policies and proactive identification of potential hazards. Typical hours are 5:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, depending on company needs. Overtime may be required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate tea bagging, leaf filling, and labeling equipment to produce finished goods that meet quality and productivity standards. Set up production lines with raw materials based on posted production schedules and supervisory direction. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Maintain certification and demonstrated proficiency on assigned machinery. Monitor machine HMIs (Human Machine Interface) and respond appropriately to alerts or adjustments. Complete required production paperwork accurately, including documentation of raw materials and daily output. Conduct spot-checks and inspections to ensure product quality standards are met. Fill containers, label products, and box finished goods for transfer to warehouse operations. Meet or exceed daily production goals as posted on the production board. Maintain accountability for quality ownership of products being produced. Follow all SQF (Safe Quality Food) regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Demonstrate familiarity with SQF standards and respond to audit-related questions regarding job functions. Maintain a clean and organized work area; assist with warehouse cleaning as needed. Identify and report unsafe practices; support a zero-accident safety culture. Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality. Perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools. Ability to lift up to 65 pounds independently. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to climb rolling ladders. Ability to work on lifts 6' to 12' above ground while handling up to 65 pounds of product. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to work overtime when required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED. Two years of related manufacturing or production experience. Experience in food or beverage manufacturing environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
