Job DescriptionPerforms demolition and construction work on various types of ductwork, installs HVAC equipment, fabricates ductwork and ductwork hangers and a wide range of custom and specialty items not available from vendors. Working from drawings and sketches, performs layout work and duplicates samples as required.bResponsibilities
Job DescriptionPerforms demolition and construction work on various types of ductwork, installs HVAC equipment, fabricates ductwork and ductwork hangers and a wide range of custom and specialty items not available from vendors. Working from drawings and sketches, performs layout work and duplicates samples as required.bResponsibilities
- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
- Fabricates custom-made strainers using perforated steel, screening and expanded metal.
- Works with plastic materials such as Plexiglass and Lexan and with all types of metals such as hot and cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum and magnesium as well as exotic metals such as tantalum, copper, monel and hastelloy.
- Uses fabrication machines such as sheet metal shears, press brakes, hand brakes and lock formers.
- Cuts sheet metal to size by using reciprocating saws, sabre saws, hand and power shears and plasma cutters and joins metals together using spot welders.
- Complies with all applicable safety requirements for assigned task.
- Must have a high school education/equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice program or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of diverse commercial and industrial sheet metal experience.
- Must be able to interpret all mechanical diagrams and construction blueprints.
- Ability to understand and complete all installations/modifications is required.
