A Day in the Life You start your shift by reviewing work instructions and touching base with your supervisor. With guidance, you help prepare the forming line, load wire or bar stock, and check that material feeds smoothly. As parts run, you keep an eye on the equipment, listen for changes, and step in to clear minor issues—escalating anything unusual right away. Throughout the day, you verify dimensions using gauges and basic measuring tools, sort out anything that doesn't meet spec, and record production counts and scrap. Between jobs, you support changeovers, tidy the cell to 5S standards, and lend a hand with packaging and labeling finished goods. Your Impact Run forming machines in line with documented instructions and direction from your supervisor. Assist with setups, adjustments, and product changeovers as requested. Load raw materials (wire, bar, or similar forming stock) and maintain consistent material flow. Watch equipment while in operation; report jams, abnormalities, or quality concerns immediately. Conduct in-process checks with gauges/measuring devices to confirm product meets specifications. Identify and separate nonconforming parts and communicate quality issues quickly. Complete production paperwork, including scrap entries and daily output tracking. Keep the work area clean and organized in accordance with 5S practices. Follow safety rules, including lockout/tagout and proper machine guarding. Support preventive maintenance tasks as directed. Help with material handling, packaging, and labeling of finished components. Participate in training and continuous improvement activities. Take on additional duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing or production preferred. Comfort following written procedures and verbal direction. Basic math abilities and familiarity with simple measuring tools. Willingness to work in a fast-moving production setting. Ability to perform effectively under direct supervision.
