Job Description

Factory Assistant -
Material Handling Summary:
The Factory Assistant is responsible for supporting production operations by assisting with material handling, staging jobs for production, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials between departments. This role involves pulling parts, printing drawings, moving equipment, and researching material issues to resolve any production obstacles. The position will report to the Production Manager and collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and efficient operations.
Requirements:
Minimum of a high school education or equivalent. Must adhere to all Simplex policies. Ability to operate various material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts). Ability to read and interpret drawings and production schedules. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to communicate (read, write, and speak) the English language clearly. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Maintain all safety standards and guidelines at all times.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to perform the duties required for material handling, including the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, or work in various positions throughout the shift.
Duties:
Daily job functions will vary. Below are examples of work that will be performed. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of job duties. Other job-related responsibilities will be assigned as needed. Assist in staging jobs for production by organizing and pulling necessary parts and materials. Print production drawings and distribute to appropriate teams. Move materials and equipment between departments to ensure smooth production flow. Research and resolve material issues or shortages to prevent production delays. Load and unload materials and organize them for production use. Conduct inventory checks to ensure materials are available for upcoming production runs. Work with production teams to prepare materials and parts for assembly or wiring. Ensure that materials are properly stored and organized for easy access. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized work area. Coordinate material and equipment logistics between departments. Support production in meeting daily targets and shipping deadlines. Maintain and update daily logs, inventory records, and production reports.
Other Responsibilities:
Assist with the setup of production equipment as needed. Collaborate with various departments to ensure that all materials and parts are available on time for production. This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of job duties. Other job-related responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
