Job Description

Job Overview:
This position will perform a combination of both administrative and production functions as needed to support farm operations. The Production Office Assistant will assist management with office operations and procedures as well as performance of day-to-day animal care activities in barn.
Duties & Functions:
Assist with various clerical duties in the office including but not limited to: Preparing Site reports Farm record management and storage Semen management Completion of maintenance work orders Ordering and stocking of office and farm supplies Assist manager with feed orders Assist with onboarding of new employees Timely and accurate entry of various farm reporting and data corrections for piglet projections, flow, employee training, etc. Answering telephone and email correspondence Perform day-to-day production activities based on sound science and best practices to ensure high-quality production of pigs including feed, water, air, and care. Protect worker safety, abiding by safe work habits to ensure a safe environment, and maintain regulatory compliance. Perform timely duties and comply with practices to protect the health of the animals, commonly referred to as bio-security practices. Perform housekeeping responsibilities of barn facilities, including but not limited to laundry, trash removal and maintaining cleanliness of office spaces, lunchrooms and employee changing areas. Complete all required trainings. Communicate any safety or animal welfare issues to management immediately.

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge of:
Office Equipment Microsoft Office Suite software•Excel, Word, Outlook General upkeep of euthanasia equipment Animal Husbandry skills Skill in: Verbal and written communication Organization Productive multi-tasking Attention to detail Ability to: Learn and become proficient with relevant computer systems, including but not limited to production record system and feed order systems Follow complex verbal/written instructions Maintain complete and accurate printed and digital records Lift, push or pull 50 pounds Handle exposure to dust, odors and noise Stand/walk on concrete for extended periods of time Solve problems and exercise sound judgment to make decisions Operate independently and demonstrate initiative Recognize workload priorities and plan effectively Be productive in a fast-paced work environment Have flexibility in schedule that may include limited weekends and/or holidays as needed

Compensation:
Targeted pay range of $18.00•$22.42 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
