Job Description
Production Assistant Role This role takes place in a prison environment. Applicants must be okay with working in this environment. Raine Tactical Gear is a manufacturer of nylon gear for military and law enforcement. We are looking for a sewing production assistant that can help in the execution of the production schedule. In addition this individual must help in maintaining efficiency and quality across all production lines.
Work Address:
6908 S Old US Highway 41, Carlisle, IN 47838 Production Scheduling & Coordination Monitor and track production schedules to ensure the timely flow of materials, components, and completed work orders. Maintain and update production schedule spreadsheets, providing accurate visibility into production progress and schedule performance. Work closely with the Production Manager to prioritize production activities and maximize workforce utilization and efficiency. Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and completion targets to the Warehouse Manager, Cut Room Supervisor, and other departments. Monitor work order status and proactively identify potential delays or bottlenecks that could impact customer delivery commitments. Assist with coordinating daily production activities to ensure monthly production objectives are achieved. Production Analysis & Time Studies Conduct a minimum of ten (10) time studies per month on individual production processes. Track, document, and analyze time study results and job performance data. Evaluate productivity trends and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, labor utilization, and workflow. Maintain accurate records of productivity metrics and operational performance. Provide recommendations to management for process improvements based on collected data and observations. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase operational effectiveness and reduce waste. Shipping Documentation & Order Verification Prepare, create, and verify all shipping documentation, including internal packing slips, AccountMate packing slips, and related shipping records. Ensure all shipping documents are accurate and consistent between internal systems and customer-facing documentation. Verify shipping addresses, quantities, item descriptions, and order details before shipment release. Save and distribute internal packing slips and invoices to Accounting for review and customer invoicing. Coordinate with Shipping, Customer Service, and Accounting to ensure documentation accuracy and timely order processing. Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies and customer shipment inquiries when needed. Administrative & Compliance Support Assist the Plant Manager in compiling, preparing, and submitting required documentation related to government contracts, Department of Commerce (DOC) requirements, and other regulatory reporting obligations. Support the preparation and submission of documents such as gate releases, count letters, payroll information, and other operational reports. Maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, compliance requirements, and internal reporting needs. Assist management with administrative projects, data collection, and reporting as assigned. Financial & Invoice Verification Audit internal invoices to ensure approved rates and pricing structures are applied correctly. Verify invoice accuracy against established spreadsheets and supporting documentation. Coordinate with the Accounting Department regarding profit and loss (P&L) entries and invoice discrepancies. Support accurate recordkeeping and documentation of operational transactions. Cross-Training & Departmental Support Develop working knowledge of Inventory Control/Warehouse Manager responsibilities to provide coverage during absences. Develop working knowledge of QC/Cut Room Manager responsibilities to support operational continuity when needed. Assist Warehouse, Quality Control, Shipping, and Production departments during peak workloads or staffing shortages. Support cross-functional projects that improve operational performance and communication between departments. Root Cause Investigation & Continuous Improvement Conduct thorough investigations into production, shipping, inventory, quality, or operational issues. Gather and document the who, what, where, when, and why of issues and incidents. Collect supporting evidence, including photographs, reports, and process documentation when applicable. Present findings and recommendations to upper management. Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve efficiency and reduce recurring problems. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Team Collaboration & Communication Promote open, professional, and consistent communication between departments. Serve as a liaison between Production, Warehouse, Shipping, Quality Control, Accounting, and Management teams. Participate in production meetings and provide updates on schedule progress and operational concerns. Support company goals by ensuring timely communication of issues affecting deliveries, production schedules, or customer requirements. Foster teamwork and collaboration to maximize overall company effectiveness. Safety & Workplace Standards Maintain a safe, secure, and organized work environment. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and workplace regulations. Assist in identifying workplace hazards and support corrective actions. Follow work schedules and operational directives established by the Plant Manager, including plant shutdowns and schedule changes. Support company initiatives related to workplace safety, quality, and operational excellence.What you will need:
- High School diploma at minimum. Bachelor's degree preferred
- Be A Self Starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
- 2-5 Experience in Production Assisting
