A cell lead will be responsible for the set-up of a work- station. Responsible for the daily gathering of materials for the job and the direction of duties for all associates in the given work area. This person will teach proper work instructions and safety techniques to all associates as well as monitor the quality of the final product. Maintaining production levels will be also a key function of this position. This person will communicate and report to the supervisor and production manager. This person will interface with other functions such as quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, and process engineering. This challenging position places high premiums on effective teamwork, clear communication, initiative, intelligent judgment, achieving and maintaining production efficiency and, most importantly, an unwavering dedication to the quality of the product produced
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, instructs, and maintains the work flow of Production associates Assist in performing hands-on production and assembly functions Checks and Inspects work of Production associates Implement Lean/Agile manufacturing practices Maintain and boost production efficiency, initiate and implement continuous improvement projects, train team members, and work with the Plant Manager and the Process Engineer to implement new processes. Assures Production associates are operating safely Provides PPE and supplies to Production associates Trains new Production associates in job duties. Assists supervisor in daily activities. Works on special projects when not working with Production associates Knowledge of all Production processes Able to follow written instructions. Signs off on completion reports. Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field
  • Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of product.
  • Ability to work under strict timelines to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to process paperwork effectively and maintain computer records.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.
  • Team oriented.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and bend twist regularly.
