Production Worker Murpac of Fort Wayne - 1.0 Fort Wayne, IN Job Details Full-time From $13 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Unloading Attention to detail Packaging Cleaning Full Job Description Thank you for taking an interest in Murpac of Fort Wayne . At our facility, we: Collect, refurbish, repair, and clean returnable packaging. Perform quality checks on packaging. Sort packaging by brand. Applicant will be expected to clean product, perform quality checks on product, sort product by brand, and stack product for resale. Work is heavily manual , and involves use of: Towels for wipe-downs Scrapers and/or putty-knives for label removal Various tools for fastening, including screwdrivers, hex-wrenches, and sockets (all provided). NECESSARY
Product must be sorted by brand and type. Employee must inspect each package for defects, which includes hairline cracks and chip damage not easily seen with the naked eye.
WORK REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS
Must be capable of consistently lifting up to 20 lbs. solo , with expectations up to 40 lbs. or more in teams. Those with medical conditions, lifting limitations, back/spinal conditions, or otherwise that conflict with these expectations need not apply. Expected to use hands for tools, scraping, taping, and otherwise. Those with hand, wrist, arm, or shoulder conditions and limitations need not apply. Reliable transportation is expected. May require proof of transportation. Basic addition. Employee must fill out a daily shift form at end day, with counts of pieces refurbished, pieces rejected, brand, and type. May be expected to unload trailers of floor-loaded product by hand in our shipping/receiving department, sort and stack wood pallets in teams, or other floater jobs as requested: positions are non-static. Forklifting not required but encouraged. On-site forklift training and certification is possible with time. Start 7 AM and leave at 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday, expected to be on time and present every day. Position may start at part-time (up to 29 hours per week), or full-time (40 hours) depending on need and evaluation.
