Job Description

At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. Currently we are looking to add a 1st Shift Team Lead to our Slidegate Plant. We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right."
Team Lead Job Responsibilities:
Make work assignments for Refractory Finishers and Material Handlers Train teammates to properly complete taasks Ensure all safety and cleanliness standards are met Track and improve scrap rates and overall yield Maintain raw material and product identification to ensure traceability Participate in discipline and review process for team members Assist team members when necessary to ensure production demands are met Perform other duties as requested by Supervisors Team Lead Qualifications 2+ years' supervision experience in a manufacturing environment 2+ years' experience operating machinery and equipment Ability to lift 60 lbs. and physically perform responsibilities Ability to use precision measuring instruments and interpret mechanical drawings Postive attitude and drive to improve company capabilities and profitabitability High school diploma or equivalent required Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment Benefits Competitive pay and merit-based increases Comprehensive health, dental, life and vision insurance Career advancement opportunities in a growing company Supportive, team-oriented work environment Paid time off and retirement plan options As we continue to grow and expand, we are looking for a driven team lead to help build the team.
