Job Description

Essential Functions:
Lead production processes and procedures, supervising and instructing subordinate production staff in their roles under guidance of Production Supervisor. Assist Production Supervisor in preparation for production by testing equipment, setting up parameters and production flow to ensure processes will be carried out properly. Constantly monitor processes and procedures during production, ensuring product quality and specifications are met. Take necessary corrective actions when possible and promptly report inconsistencies to the Supervisor. Fill in for subordinates when needed. Provide backup for Production Supervisor of the department/area. Assists in training and development of new and current employees of the department/area. Work with production employees and other department leads to ensure production goals and standards are met. Troubleshoot mechanical issues when possible. Assist in collection and processing of various production data. Perform related duties as required if trained or qualified to do.
Job Specifications:
Requires working knowledge of production equipment, operational processes, standard operational procedures, quality specifications, USDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, HAACP guidelines, employee handbook, and company policies. Demonstrated ability in communication skills, preferably in both English and Spanish.
Skills And Abilities:
Ability to acquire knowledge of processes and machinery used in the plant department. Ability to learn new production techniques and methods. Ability to lead and instruct staff. Ability to read and understand production report and data. Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees. Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical problems on the production line.
