Primary Objective of Position:
To support Manufacturing Engineering (ME) operations through the safe and efficient handling, movement, and maintenance of materials, equipment, and fabricated components while ensuring safety compliance and operational efficiency. Key Areas of Responsibility Assist with project installations, including operating forklifts and scissor lifts and performing work at elevated heights safely Safely unload delivery trucks and verify incoming materials Pick up and deliver ordered parts and materials between departments as needed Support the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team with fabrication and project-related tasks Return repaired (red-tagged) items to production in a timely manner Perform fire watch duties as required to ensure a safe work environment Deliver completed fabrication projects to production areas Assist with 6S and continuous improvement initiatives Conduct daily hoist inspections (B19 compliance) to ensure equipment safety and readiness Perform pallet rack inspections and minor repairs as needed Perform weekly preventive maintenance on shop equipment, including plasma tables (e.g., cleaning, water changes) Follow all safety guidelines and perform tasks requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs Key Attributes Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity in a shop environment Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures accurately Dependable and personable team player who contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment Flexible and adaptable to changing production needs and priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors Willingness to learn fabrication processes, tools, and equipment, with a focus on continuous skill development and future advancement Education & Experience Welding experience is a plus; however, training is available for the right candidate Experience or strong interest in metal fabrication and/or machining processes Working knowledge of basic tools and equipment (e.g., saws, screw guns, hand tools, measuring devices) Forklift experience preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently qualified This position is Part-Time.
