Position Summary:
The Product Technician provides phone support and builds for the modules. The Product Technician is responsible for the production and/or packaging of various modules according to required specifications. The Product Technician may operate a variety of manually operated shop tools in the process of manufacturing. May complete other tasks to support production such as assembly and sub-assembly processes, inspection and others as assigned. Essential Functions (other responsibilities may be assigned):
- Assembles modules based on database specifications.
- Inspects and tests completed modules for defects and quality based on specifications.
- Assembles and packages modules using packaging material per specifications.
- Aid with technical calls related to module install, troubleshooting, and sales related needs.
- Potential need to participate and travel for trade shows/installation, etc.
- Follows all safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains a clean and clutter free work station.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend simple written and verbal instructions and procedures.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet specified manufacturing goals. Basic/general understanding of automotive components and maintenance.
- Ability to solder and read wiring schematics.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and communicate effectively using email.
- Knowledge and/or experience with diesel repair, a plus, but not required.
- Ability to read measurement tools and perform basic shop math.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-thru.
Education and Experience:
- Electronic manufacturing experience.
- High School Diploma/GED and three to six months experience working in manufacturing environment with machine operation, assembly and packaging highly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent motor vehicle record (MVR) and valid Indiana Driver's License (required).
