Job Title:
Paint Loader Job Description This role supports a busy paint and production department by loading and unloading helmets on racks, preparing them for painting, and assisting with general production tasks. You will work in a manufacturing environment where attention to detail, adherence to work instructions, and commitment to safety are essential. This position does not involve mixing paint or painting but focuses on paint preparation and handling processes. Responsibilities Load helmets onto racks in preparation for flame treating and painting, following established work instructions. Unload helmets from racks after processing and handle them carefully to avoid damage. Perform flame treating of helmets according to defined procedures and safety guidelines. Assist with masking helmets and components as needed to prepare them for painting. Support all department duties and general production activities as required to meet production goals. Use hand tools and general labor techniques to complete paint preparation tasks such as sanding and prepping surfaces. Follow work orders and production schedules to ensure products move efficiently through the paint shop. Operate or assist with spray guns, sprayers, and other paint shop equipment for prep-related tasks as directed. Work safely in an industrial painting and powder coat environment, complying with all safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations. Stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods while maintaining high attention to detail. Learn and understand the products and production methods to improve quality and efficiency over time. Contribute to continuous improvement by seeking ways to make yourself and the department better. Essential Skills Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Demonstrated attention to detail when following work instructions and handling products. Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions. Capability to perform general labor and general production tasks. Experience with paint preparation activities such as sanding and prepping surfaces. Familiarity with spray guns, sprayers, and paint shop processes in an industrial painting environment. Ability to work safely in an industrial setting and comply with safety regulations. Physical ability to walk, bend, reach, and stand for long periods of time without heavy lifting. Spray painting experience in an industrial environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in an industrial painting, powder coat, or paint shop environment. Comfort using hand tools for general production and paint prep tasks. Willingness to assist with all department duties and support team needs. Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing environment that supports industrial painting and production operations. The facility is not temperature controlled but remains comfortable with the help of overhead fans, especially during warmer months. You will work primarily in a paint shop and production area with equipment such as spray guns, sprayers, sanding tools, and general hand tools. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Overtime may be required, with extended hours from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday when needed, particularly during the summer when overtime is more frequent. The work involves standing, walking, bending, and reaching for long periods, and you will be expected to follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate work attire and protective equipment suitable for an industrial paint and manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Plainfield, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
