General Production Worker - Injection Mold Operator Job Description This role supports the injection molding process by operating production equipment, handling polymer resin, and ensuring each molded helmet meets defined quality standards. You will work on a fast-paced production line, perform visual inspections, complete basic documentation, and collaborate closely with an injection mold technician to maintain safe, efficient, and accurate manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Load polymer resin into the injection molding machine according to established procedures. Monitor the injection molding process alongside the injection mold technician and promptly report any irregularities. Offload completed helmets from the machine at a high-paced rate (approximately one helmet every 70 seconds). Inspect each helmet for holes, defects, bubbles, and other visible imperfections, ensuring products meet quality standards. Record production counts using tally marks and document defective parts accurately. Use the provided tools to punch out and scrape excess plastic from ear holes and top holes on each helmet. Perform quick visual quality checks on every part and immediately communicate issues to the mold technician. Use RF scanning equipment to insert RF technology into each helmet and scan each item into the tracking system. Follow safety guidelines at all times, including the use of steel toe or composite toe shoes and adherence to manufacturing safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production and safe operations. Essential Skills Previous manufacturing experience, ideally working around production machinery. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining responsibility for product quality. Ability to stand for an entire 8-10 hour shift. Capability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and attention to detail. Comfort using basic production tools and equipment, including RF scanners. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly with team members. Steel toe or composite toe shoes, required for safety in the manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Plastics or injection molding experience. Prior machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting. Strong focus on quality and willingness to report and help resolve production issues. Reliability in attendance and punctuality to support fixed shift schedules. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing environment that is not temperature controlled but remains comfortable with the support of overhead fans. The role is hands-on and requires standing for most of the shift, frequent movement, and repetitive tasks at a fast pace. You will work around production machinery and use tools designed for punching and scraping plastic, as well as RF scanning equipment to track products. Steel toe or composite toe shoes are required as part of the safety dress code. Available shifts include a weekday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime as needed, and a weekend schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, with a total of 36 paid hours including lunches. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainfield, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
