Job Title:
General Production Worker - Powder Coat Department (1st & 2nd Shift) Job Description This role supports a busy powder coat department on a large manufacturing floor in the northern Indianapolis area. You will handle metal parts throughout the powder coating process, from loading and spraying to staging and visual inspection, while working on your feet and performing consistent physical labor in a fast-paced industrial environment. Responsibilities Hang metal fixtures and parts on hooks to load them into the powder coating line. Ensure frames and weldments are properly secured in the hanging harness before coating. Use a powder coat sprayer to apply paint (typically black or other specified colors) to metal materials in a consistent and accurate manner. Hang sprayed frames and parts and stage them appropriately for drying and curing. Visually inspect coated frames to verify that the powder coat has cured correctly and meets quality standards. Perform general production and labor tasks related to paint preparation, coating, and racking of parts as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures while working around machinery and welding equipment. Work effectively on either 1st or 2nd shift as assigned and support team production goals. Essential Skills Experience performing physical labor in a production, warehouse, construction, or similar environment. Ability to stand for up to 12 hours during a shift. Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. Comfort working in a general labor role that involves repetitive tasks such as hanging parts on a powder coat line. Basic ability to perform paint preparation, coating, and racking tasks following instructions. Reliability and stable work history without frequent short-term job changes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in industrial manufacturing is a plus. Experience working in a fast-paced industrial or production environment is preferred. Familiarity with powder coating, paint prep, or metal fabrication processes is beneficial. Interest in learning additional skills such as welding, with opportunities for paid certification. Why Work Here? Employees benefit from a supportive, employee-focused culture with access to an on-site clinic for both employees and their families, including medicine, check-ups, and screenings.
