We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us as full-time, on-site team members at our new, state-of-the-art factory located within Gigafactory of Panasonic Energy of North America Inc at DeSoto, Kansas. We are Soode Kansas Corporation, fully owned by Alconix Corporation (https://www.alconix.com/en/) which is listed in Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market. We are going to manufacture/supply top cap parts of lithium-ion battery cells to Panasonic Energy. We are looking for people who can enjoy the new challenge, not afraid of new things, and are flexible about unexpected happenings in a start-up environment. Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled High-Speed Press Operator to support a precision-driven manufacturing environment rooted in continuous improvement, quality excellence, and operational discipline. This role is ideal for experienced operators who thrive in structured, team-oriented settings and take pride in producing defect-free components at high efficiency.
Key Responsibilities Precision Machine Operation:
Set up, operate, and monitor high-speed press equipment to achieve optimal throughput and minimal downtime
Process Control & Optimization:
Continuously monitor press performance, identify inefficiencies, and make real-time adjustments to maintain production targets
Advanced Setup & Changeover:
Interpret work orders, tooling requirements, and production schedules to ensure accurate and efficient setups
Quality Assurance:
Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure zero-defect output, Identify and escalate quality concerns proactively to prevent downstream issues
Measurement & Validation:
Utilize precision instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, load monitors) to verify conformance to tight tolerances
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Diagnose mechanical or process issues and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision
Standard Work & Documentation:
Follow and contribute to standardized work instructions, ensuring consistency and repeatability
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and support a culture of accountability and hazard awareness
General Duties:
Support additional tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Job Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in high-speed metal stamping within a precision or automotive manufacturing environment
Technical Expertise:
Advanced experience with high-speed presses, progressive dies, and coil feed systems Strong understanding of die protection systems, press tonnage, and feed line optimization
Blueprint & GD&T:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning (GD&T preferred)
Mathematical Proficiency:
Comfortable working in both metric and imperial units and strong working knowledge of fractions, decimals, and precision measurement calculations
Continuous Improvement Mindset:
Exposure to lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and standardized work Preferred Skills & Attributes Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to meet production targets while maintaining accuracy Clear and effective communication skills Strong safety awareness and adherence to all safety protocols Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Required to wear safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection as designated.
