Production Associate / Production Technician Job Description This role focuses on planning layouts and performing a variety of production operations to assemble and develop composite parts, assemblies, and molds for the aerospace industry. You will work as part of a self-directed team with minimal direct supervision, following instructions, specifications, and operating procedures to support preparation, fabrication, and assembly activities for both production and developmental programs. Responsibilities Read and follow detailed work instructions for mixing chemicals, performing production tasks, and verifying quality compliance with documentation accurately and on time. Collaborate with team members to support problem-solving activities and contribute ideas for improvement. Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage or contamination throughout the production process. Use equipment such as scales, chemical applicators, precision instruments, and various hand tools in a safe and efficient manner. Work independently with minimal direction, demonstrate reliable attendance, and maintain consistent effort to complete tasks on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in alignment with established standards and continuous improvement practices. Lift up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks within a standard manufacturing and warehouse environment. Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors to coordinate tasks, share updates, and escalate issues when necessary. Report equipment issues promptly and escalate concerns in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted operations. Follow instructions explicitly when required and apply innovative approaches when appropriate to improve processes or resolve issues. Perform general production duties in a bench assembly area, including assembly, packing, packaging, picking, and mechanical or bench assembly tasks. Support operational excellence initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement activities. Complete other related work as assigned to support overall production goals. Essential Skills Ability to read and follow written work instructions for chemical mixing, production tasks, and quality verification. Attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn new processes and techniques. Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with established standards. Capability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Comfort working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining reliable attendance. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to participate effectively in team-based problem-solving activities. Good verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with peers and reporting issues. Ability to use scales, chemical applicators, precision instruments, and various hand tools safely and accurately. Understanding of continuous improvement concepts and a willingness to support a culture of operational excellence. Eligibility to work under ITAR regulations in compliance with export control and site security requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma. 0-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment or similar setting preferred. Experience with assembly, packing, packaging, picking, and general labor tasks. Experience in mechanical work, production work, or bench assembly is beneficial. Ability to report equipment issues and escalate concerns promptly. Capability to follow instructions explicitly or adapt and innovate when appropriate to improve processes. Work Environment This position operates in a standard manufacturing and warehouse environment within a bench assembly area, where you will often work independently while remaining part of a broader production team. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will regularly stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and handle materials and components with care. Daily work involves the use of scales, chemical applicators, precision instruments, and various hand tools, as well as exposure to chemical mixing and composite fabrication activities. The facility is a newer site and emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and efficient workflow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
