The primary job responsibility is the inspection and pack out of finished boxes. Ability to communicate well with others Ability to follow both written and oral instructions Ability to perform basic mathematic operations Visual acuity to spot defects with the finished box Ability to lift bundles of up to 35 lbs. to heights of 66" Ability to stand on ones feet for an entire 10 hour shift Arrive prior to start of shift to ensure you are ready to begin work when your production line starts Compute quantity per shipping carton based on optimal usage of space inside carton and available cartons for use. Pack boxes into shipping carton per responsibility #2 Perform final quality checks—including but not limited to inspecting for the following defects: turn in adhesion, soft edges, cat-eyes, overlaps, dog ears, blow outs, excess adhesive, bubbles, wrinkles, pick marks, stripper rod marks, grease or dirt, print defects, blank surface blemishes, rub off, scratch marks, high corners, and graphics mis-registration. Notify the lead person if the reject rate exceeds 10%. Fill in for lead person as needed. If the lead person is busy correcting an equipment problem, stay busy. Use the available time to tape up additional corrugated cartons, clean up the area, remove trash barrels from the area, fill the quad stayers, fan wrap, etc. Clean assigned gluer at end of shift as well as your assigned work area. While in production, should a box appear to be "off color" it is to be compared against the LSD to determine whether the variance is acceptable. Notify the Lead Person in the event the out of standard rate exceeds one in ten boxes or 10% so that the wrap can be sorted prior to resuming production.
