Job Title:
Production Control Specialist Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Production Control Specialist to oversee daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you coordinate the flow of materials, support warehouse and production teams, and ensure that logistics processes run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. Responsibilities Supervise inbound and outbound logistics activities to ensure timely and accurate shipping and receiving of materials and products. Support warehouse team members in their day-to-day tasks by providing guidance, direction, and problem-solving assistance. Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, including performing regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies. Manage material flow to and from production areas to support on-time manufacturing and minimize delays or shortages. Coordinate closely with production teams to align material availability with production schedules and priorities. Collaborate with purchasing to ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and staged in a timely manner. Communicate and coordinate with carriers and freight providers to schedule pickups, deliveries, and dispatch activities. Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations in all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. Maintain adherence to quality standards by verifying shipments, inspecting materials, and addressing issues promptly. Utilize Microsoft Excel, warehouse management tools, and ERP systems to enter, track, and analyze logistics and inventory data. Provide responsive customer service to internal stakeholders by addressing inquiries related to inventory, shipping status, and material availability. Identify opportunities to improve logistics, inventory control, and warehouse processes, and support implementation of best practices. Essential Skills 1-2 years of experience in logistics, production, warehousing, or manufacturing operations. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel. Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes. Practical knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management. Ability to manage freight, dispatch, and carrier coordination activities. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping. Commitment to following safety and quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is preferred. Experience in supply chain, logistics, and inventory management. Background in customer service within a manufacturing or warehouse setting. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and tools. Ability to analyze logistics data and suggest process improvements. Comfort working across functions with production, purchasing, and carriers. Interest in career advancement and ongoing skill development. Work Environment This role is based in an office and manufacturing environment where you work closely with warehouse and production teams. You will typically work one shift, either 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with multiple scheduling options and overtime available. The setting is fast-paced and team-oriented, with strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and collaboration. You will use technologies such as Microsoft Office, ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle), and warehouse management tools as part of your daily work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
