The Role:
Operators are responsible for manufacturing and productions processes and are critical to ensuring the quality of 3A's products. Operators must adhere to EHS policies, procedures, and regulations at all times. Demonstrate an ability to effectively troubleshoot equipment for optimum productivity and quality. Operate forklift daily, as needed. Communicate with Production Coordinator and Lab Technician daily. Perform start-up and shut-down procedures effectively. Responsible for paper handling. Responsible for changing and replacing doctor blades. Responsible for monitoring the coater making sure glue is in both top and bottom pans. Responsible for cleaning at shut down and /or removing excess glue during times of continuous running and preparing before start up. Responsible for recording adhesive usage on the Raw Material Usage Log. Responsible for maintaining the printer. Responsible for Hi-Sil usage. Responsible for Black Polymer usage. Responsible for assisting in startup with polymer feed, pnuematogen injection ports and bring foam up the line when threading up. Must at all times coordinate with the Extruder Operator if there is a need for the Paper Operator to leave the area. One person must at all times be in the paper/extruder area. All operators are to carry two-way radios at all times. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in order to maintain optimum efficiency, quality and safety levels. Perform additional job duties as assigned by supervision.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and maintain accurate records. Available to work 2nd shift. Basic math skills. Self-Starter with little supervision. Mechanical aptitude - have demonstrated and understanding of machine logic and the ability to troubleshoot equipment successfully. Capable of lifting up to 75 lbs. Basic computer functions.
Understanding of lock-out/tag-out procedures:
ZES, IES, etc. Ability to operate a fork lift in a safe manner. Ability to analyze and document SOPs. Willingness to approach the work with an emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork. Meet overtime requirements, both scheduled an unscheduled
