Job Title:
Sewing Machine Operator Job Summary The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to assemble, stitch, and finish textile products according to company quality standards and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a commitment to workplace safety. Key Responsibilities Operate industrial sewing machines to sew, assemble, or repair fabric and other materials. Follow production specifications, work orders, and quality standards. Inspect materials and finished products for defects or inconsistencies. Measure, trim, and align materials before and during the sewing process. Maintain production quotas while ensuring high-quality workmanship. Perform routine machine cleaning and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors. Keep workstations clean, organized, and safe. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production goals. Assist with other production tasks as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous sewing or manufacturing experience is preferred but not always required. Ability to operate industrial sewing machines or willingness to learn. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to read and follow written instructions and production specifications. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift up to 25-50 pounds, as required by the position. Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing or factory setting. May require overtime, weekends, or flexible scheduling based on production demands. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Physical Requirements Frequent use of hands and fingers for sewing and handling materials. Ability to sit or stand for long periods. Repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the shift.
