NSC Staffing Position Overview NSC Staffing is seeking experienced Senior Aluminum Shipfitters for a long-term shipyard project in New Orleans, LA. This role supports U.S. Military vessel construction, repair, and modernization. Ideal candidates have strong blueprint reading skills, aluminum fabrication experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Measure, layout, cut, grind, and fabricate aluminum and structural materials Perform tack welding on aluminum structures Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions Retrieve and follow technical documentation and job specifications Maintain required records, logs, and production documentation Operate MIG and TIG welders and various hand and power tools Perform visual inspections to ensure quality and accuracy Maintain clean and organized work areas Lead or assist helpers as needed Qualifications 10+ years of shipfitting experience Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings Experience with aluminum fabrication and tack welding Knowledge of fabrication and testing procedures Ability to perform shop math and work with metric measurements Basic computer skills Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed Shipyard or naval vessel experience preferred Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED Work Environment Shipyard and fabrication shop setting Fast-paced production supporting military and commercial vessels Benefits Competitive Pay Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Referral Bonus Program Identity Theft Protection Legal Assistance #MA50 How to
