Part-Time Production Assistant Description:

Radius Ensemble seeks a production assistant from 6-10pm on subscription series concert nights at MIT's Thomas Tull Concert Hall. The production assistant will act as the artistic director's proxy when she is rehearsing or performing, and will supervise the three student ushers hired by MIT. Duties include monitoring ticket sales, opening the hall to attendees once sound checks are concluded, overseeing stage layout, dealing with patron concerns, communicating with musicians offstage, and generally ensuring that the evening runs smoothly so that the artistic director can focus on performing.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience as a classical or jazz performer or stage hand.
• Able to lift music stands and chairs, and move a grand piano (with assistance).
• Availability for all four subscription series concerts: October 17, 2026; February 27, April 10 and May 15, 2027 (Saturdays at 8pm).

Thomas Tull Concert Hall is located at 201 Amherst Street in Cambridge, behind Kresge Auditorium and across Mass. Ave. from the main entrance to MIT. The hall is accessible from the #1 Bus, which runs between Harvard and Dudley Squares via Mass. Ave. Garage parking is available on concert nights for $11. Thomas Tull Concert Hall is fully accessible. Additional employment may be offered for concerts in the Boston area throughout the concert season but is not mandatory.
