Job Title:
Utility Operator - NO
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Job Description As a Utility Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, starting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting extrusion lines and associated products. You will ensure that all operations conform to customer and company production specifications, while reading and interpreting production paperwork, such as Sales Orders and Production Notes. Responsibilities Set up flat and blown film lines using previously determined guidelines and specifications. Startup and maintain extrusion lines within customer specifications. Enter all production data into Syteline software. Prepare customer samples as required. Inspect running material and take gauge samples from rolls per specification to test material. Make tooling changes or adjustments with little or no supervision, including cleaning screws. Make recommendations to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency. Attend weekly shift and safety meetings in addition to the regular work schedule. Train Utility Workers or other Operators as needed. Assume the role of Team Leader in the absence of a Supervisor. Acquire skills to operate a variety of lines for flexible production scheduling. Perform duties of a Utility Worker as required. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Essential Skills Experience in production, general labor, and machine operation. Mechanical inclination. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong time management skills. Strong comprehension skills for complex instructions and correspondence. Ability to perform complex calculations including fractions and decimals. Proficiency in using a computer and manufacturing software. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to travel between facilities. Ability to work overtime if required to meet business demands. Experience in diverse fields such as construction, automotive, or hospitality is advantageous. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a loud manufacturing environment with a rotating first shift schedule of 12 hours, from 6:45 am to 7:05 pm. The schedule alternates between two days on/three days off and three days on/two days off. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
