Freelance Production Assistant

Production Assistant - Boston Backdrops Boston Backdrops is hiring a Production Assistant to support the build, prep, and installation of custom event sets and backdrops in the New England area. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced workshop and on-site at events. You'll be part of a small, high-output team creating and installing everything from branded displays to large-scale event builds. What You'll Do Assist with set fabrication, painting, and finishing Support basic set design execution using hand and power tools Pack, load, and unload trucks for deliveries and installs Assist with delivery and construct sets on-site at event locations Assist with event breakdowns as needed Help maintain warehouse organization and inventory Work directly with the Production Manager on day-to-day builds and logistics What We're Looking For Comfortable in a hands-on, physical role Able to lift 50+ lbs regularly Carpentry experience is a strong plus Familiar with basic tools and safety (drills, saws, levels, etc.) Reliable, efficient, and able to move quickly in a fast-paced environment Willing to work flexible hours , including early mornings and late nights when required Team player with a good attitude and attention to detail The Role Mix of workshop/warehouse/studio (Marshfield, MA) and on-site event work Hours vary week to week based on production and event schedule Opportunity to grow into a full-time position with a rapidly expanding creative production company

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
