This position works closely with Manufacturing, Materials/Planning and Engineering to ensure product and process quality throughout production. The ideal candidate has experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment and is comfortable performing mechanical inspections, reading manufacturing drawings and tolerances, using precision measuring equipment, and working directly with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. This is a hands-on manufacturing quality position with regular time spent on the production floor. Essential Responsibilities Perform first-piece, in-process and last-piece mechanical inspections and document results. Verify manufactured components against engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances. Use precision inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, comparators and other mechanical measuring tools. Provide daily quality support to manufacturing operations. Identify and document product nonconformances. Participate in root cause investigations and help develop corrective solutions. Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to address quality and process issues. Monitor quality data and trends to identify opportunities for defect reduction and continuous improvement. Support preparation and maintenance of manufacturing and quality work instructions. Assist with training manufacturing personnel on quality requirements and inspection processes. Support the calibration program for inspection and measuring equipment. Participate in internal quality audits. Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities. Assist with process and part continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate inspection and quality records. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications 3-5 years of Quality or Manufacturing experience in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Experience performing mechanical or dimensional inspection of manufactured components. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, dimensions and tolerances. Hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, comparators and similar inspection tools. Experience with first-piece, in-process and/or final inspection. Understanding of nonconformance, root cause and corrective action processes. Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality systems. Knowledge of basic quality-control and problem-solving methods. Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC). Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering and other cross-functional teams. Work Environment / Physical Requirements This position works in both manufacturing and office environments and requires regular interaction on the production floor.
