Production Operator

Job Title:

Production Operator Job Description The production operator will begin on a contract basis in the packaging area, responsible for folding gaylords and packing products. Progression includes operating one of four extruder lines to produce various plastic pellets used by companies across multiple industries, including automotive and construction. The role involves creating different blends based on specific recipes and monitoring the extruders during production. Responsibilities Follow both written and verbal instructions accurately. Verify manufacturing numbers, including item numbers, lot numbers, and quantities. Document production information legibly on required paperwork. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Monitor personal safety and the safety of team members. Complete ongoing computer-based training using basic computer skills. Essential Skills Prior manufacturing experience (minimum of 1 year). Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for entire shifts. Good communication skills in English. Basic math skills. Basic computer skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in blending operations and extruder operations. Troubleshooting and mechanical abilities. Leadership skills. Safe fork truck operation. Forklift experience is beneficial but not required during the contract period. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position requires working twelve-hour shifts on a rotational schedule, which includes both day and night shifts. Overtime is built into the schedule, with Sundays and hours over 40 per week qualifying for extra pay. Voluntary overtime is also available. The work environment emphasizes safety and cleanliness, with physical requirements such as standing for prolonged periods, lifting up to 55 lbs, and regular climbing, bending, and stretching. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.50/hr.
