Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker will be assigned to a department based on their skillsets, including wood cut, wood assembly, material handling, corrugated, pulp, dock work, foam assembly, and foam cut. The position involves using hand and power tools for production and assembly, contributing to the creation of various crates and packaging for different industries. Responsibilities Adhere to company safety and quality policies at all times. Follow established ISO work instructions as applicable. Complete assigned manufacturing tasks using specified equipment within the allotted time. Oversee materials to minimize scrap and waste. Process scrap material for recycling. Maintain work area and equipment according to established 5S standards. Operate equipment according to manufacturer's guidelines. Report safety and quality issues, along with any maintenance needs, to the supervisor. Participate in established cross-training initiatives in other areas to support business goals and objectives. Essential Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write short correspondence.
Basic arithmetic skills:
ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Proficiency in reading a tape measure. Comfortable using hand and power tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency in shop math. Ability to read blueprints. Team-oriented mindset. Capability to work in a fast-paced environment. Dedication to task completion. Work Environment The work environment is very clean, well-kept, and can be a bit loud, but not excessively so. There are no unpleasant odors, and the temperature is controlled.
The role offers two shifts:
1st shift from 6 am to 2:30 pm and 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11 pm. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sutton, MA.
