Job Description
- Job Title: General Production Worker
- Job Description
- The General Production Worker supports manufacturing operations by performing a variety of production and assembly tasks in departments such as wood cutting, wood assembly, material handling, corrugated, pulp, dock work, foam assembly, and foam cutting.
You will use hand and power tools to help build crates and packaging for a wide range of industries, following established procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Responsibilities
- + Adhere to all company safety and quality policies at all times.
+ Follow established ISO work instructions and standard operating procedures as applicable to the assigned department.
+ Complete assigned manufacturing and assembly tasks using specified equipment within the allotted time.
+ Monitor and handle materials carefully to minimize scrap and waste.
+ Process scrap material for recycling in accordance with company guidelines.
+ Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment at all times, following 5S standards.
+ Operate production equipment and tools according to manufacturer's guidelines and safety requirements.
+ Report safety concerns, quality issues, and maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
+ Participate in cross-training initiatives in other departments to support business goals and improve versatility.
+ Use hand and power tools, tape measures, and other basic equipment to perform cutting, assembly, packing, and packaging tasks.
+ Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and maintain high quality standards.
+ Contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment by staying focused and dedicated to task completion.
- Essential Skills
- + Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short written correspondence.
+ Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
+ Comfortable and proficient using hand tools and power tools in a production environment.
+ Experience with general labor, production, assembly, packing, packaging, and machine operation.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
+ Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.
+ Dedication to completing tasks safely, accurately, and on time.
- Job Type & Location
- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Worcester, MA.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $16.
00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
