Job Description
Job Title:
Hot Chop /Production Worker/ General Labor Job Description Candidates will be working in a production environment that produces food products, specifically around hot peppers with strong smells, and outdoors. Responsibilities Work on production lines, boxing and stacking product. Load and unload product into the machine. Palletize product and wrap them. Handle boxes weighing 15-20 pounds, loading them on the front of the machine or stacking them on a pallet. Open boxes with empty glass bottles and feed them into the production machine or grab boxes off the line and palletize them. Essential Skills Experience in Warehouse, Production, and General Labor. Ability to be on feet for shifts ranging from 10-12 hours. Ability to work together on a high-speed production line. Ability to lift 15-20 pounds. Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout the day. Follow all GMP practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfortable working around strong smells like garlic, jalapeños, salsa, and taco sauce. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a food manufacturing facility with seasonal temperature variations, lacking air conditioning or heating. Workers will be around machines emitting heat and exposed to strong food smells. Shifts are 10-12 hours long, requiring standing for extended periods. Safety gear including gloves, beard nets, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety glasses is provided, but candidates must supply their own steel-toe boots. Temporary workers wear royal blue shirts, provided by the company. The environment is multicultural, mainly with Spanish and Haitian Creole speakers. Facilities include a break room with microwaves and vending machines, and lockers for personal belongings. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hurlock, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
