View More Jobs Production Control Specialist Salisbury, NC, United States and 1 more Job Description The Production Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating materials, inventory, and production requirements to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This position serves as a key link between Production, Procurement, Logistics, Suppliers, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include monitoring production schedules and material requirements Identifying and resolving shortages, managing supplier delivery performance, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating corrective actions for material or inventory discrepancies. The Production Control Specialist analyzes inventory levels, demand, Days on Hand (DOH), production changes, and supplier conditions to proactively identify risks that could affect production. The role supports cycle counting, physical inventory, inventory adjustments, warehouse and material-flow improvements, and investigation of inventory variances. The specialist also works to reduce excess and obsolete inventory, premium freight, expedited shipments, and other unnecessary logistics costs. Additional responsibilities include maintaining production control reports and KPIs, communicating material risks to management, coordinating engineering or production changes, supporting new product introductions, and participating in continuous-improvement activities. The Production Control Specialist is expected to use ERP/WMS systems and data-analysis tools such as Excel to monitor performance, identify root causes, develop countermeasures, and improve production control processes. Success in this position requires strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple requirements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The overall objective is to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, production continuity, and effective inventory control while supporting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity objectives.

Annual Salary:
