Job Description
This is a
TEMPORARY
position with the possibility of permanent employment. The Laser Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining laser cutting machines to produce high-quality parts. The role requires attention to detail, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to meet production and safety standards.Major Responsibilities:
Inspect parts from laser stations on the production floor, recording defects, making key decisions to pass/stop production, and building rapport with other operators Make the daily production according to the performance required for each production line. Produce parts that are consistent with internal quality standards using interpreted blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics. Process adjustments, routine inspections, and quality tests through the ability to determine the best laser cutting technique to perform duties in a safe, quality-oriented, and productive manner with reduced guidance. Inspect all incoming materials from suppliers for use in welding assembly and make reports into the quality system. Assist in root cause corrective action, containment, defective production, and maintenance support activities in accordance with business and internal regulations (As required) Participate in various levels of internal and external audits (As required)Key Responsibilities:
Operate, set up, and maintain laser cutting machines Follow all safety rules, LOTO procedures, and use required PPE Load materials and programs; set machine parameters Create and modify laser programs as needed Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy Troubleshoot common machine issues and perform routine maintenance Maintain a clean and organized workstation (5S) Meet productivity targets (minimum 75% efficiency) Communicate effectively and follow instructions Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality Support other production areas such as shot blasting and assembly when required We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications: Extensive knowledge of the operation of Prima Power 3D Axis Laser Next 1530 or Trumpf laser, both either 3-or 5-axis lasers is a PLUS. Education - High School diploma or higher 1-2 years of previous experience in a production environment that demonstrates the ability to learn multiple tasks is preferred Excellent record of attendance (willing to work overtime as needed) Ability to perform visual inspections, mechanical measurements, and calibration verifications (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Basic mechanical and technical knowledge Experience with laser or CNC machines preferred Ability to read drawings and use CAD/CAM software preferred Attention to detail and commitment to quality Reliable, organized, and team-oriented Come join our team! Do you enjoy handling multiple tasks and working in a team environment? Laser Operators work to manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment that inspect the standards of products presented to the highest nobility. If any issues arise, they will refer to their supervisor with any outstanding inquiries to improve workflow. Skills validation & employee evaluations can be completed every six months to evaluate knowledge and ensure that standards and safety regulations are observed.
