EA/SMT Process Technician Lead SoundOff Signal $27.20 - $38.40 / hr United States, Michigan, Hudsonville Jun 17, 2026 Description General Position Overview Responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, coordination, and support for the Process Technician team to ensure consistent performance, quality, and operational readiness to produce quality products in a timely manner.
Continuous ownership of daily production performance of various SMT and electronics manufacturing equipment.
Have ability to interact with cross-functional teams in a professional and respectful manner.
Demonstrate skill set to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Strong leadership and team building skills.
High individual level of quality, with proven contributions to the overall product quality.
Proficient at operating department's automatic equipment, including testers. Essential Job Functions Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
Serve as the primary point of contact and working lead for the Process Technician team.
Assign, coordinate, and monitor daily tasks to ensure production goals and labor standards are met.
Provide on-the-floor coaching, guidance, and technical support to technicians during production runs.
Support the leadership team by communicating team performance, issues, and improvement opportunities.
Lead by example in quality, professionalism, and adherence to company policies.
Assist in onboarding, training, and cross-training new and existing technicians across all processes.
Help maintain a positive, collaborative team environment and proactively address interpersonal or workflow issues.
Determine issues and potential problems with equipment and provide data driven corrective actions.
Proven ability to work with and follow directions from the Supervisor.
Willing to work overtime in support of the department if needed.
Ability to work with both internal and external customers.
Maintain files (spreadsheet or database) of problems.
Have a thorough understanding of all SoundOff Signal policies, procedures, and systems.
Willing and able to train others in all department processes.
Able to perform job consistently without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Associate degree or greater preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Understand and operate complex computer controlled equipment.
Experience with SMT production operations.
Manage line changeovers between production runs.
Proficiently operate a PC and various programs like Microsoft Office.
Ability to successfully communicate with others within the company, as well as outside vendors.
Ability to understand and utilize information from data sheets.
Ability to work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.
Detail oriented. Physical Requirements Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
Must be able to accurately handle and assemble small parts. Working Conditions Light manufacturing environment
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
Required to work shift hours (four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days) with occasional overtime
