Job Description
The Manufacturing Planning Specialist is responsible for planning and providing Manufacturing volume scenarios for Assembly plants.
These duties include:
Updating plant calendars based on current production schedules loaded into the PRA37 databaseCreating calendar proposals based on program volume changes, potentially increasing or decreasingDeep understanding of the production calendars for each Assembly Plant, and the most efficient ways to react to demand changes (contractual requirements, cost ramifications, etc.)Responsible for tracking plant performance, gathering plan volume from ODIMS and comparing it with actual production reported in Blue Book, plants daily I-status also is tracked via Blue BookDeveloping leadership presentations and/or proposals for current year plus oneWorking with Supply Chain, MLM, Plant Production, and various other groups to assure proposals and plans are feasible and the most cost-effective way for manufacturing to operate in the current yearDuring each Program launch he/she will be responsible for updating the standard launch performance tracker, which is sent to senior leadership daily, gathering both plan and actual build counts as well as the quality KPI's.
Occasional overtime requiredEnd of Month, End of Quarter, and End of Half will be critical to support flexible working hours to assure reports and information are completed on time
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degreeMinimum of 2 years of manufacturing experienceGeneral understanding of how an assembly plant operatesVehicle Status as it moves through Body-in-White (BIW), Paint, General Assembly (GA) and I-statusHigh skill level in Excel (Google Sheets) and PowerPoint (Google Slides) is requiredCreative thinker required to streamline reports and minimize data entryStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes with a focus on Body in White (BIW), Paint, General Assembly, QualityStrong written and verbal communications skillsExtremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint (Google Slides) and Excel (Google Sheets)Strong organizational/project management skillsSelf-Motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
