General Production Worker

General Production Worker Job Description This role offers two primary paths: Production Operators focus on the assembly and disassembly of engines, while Material Handlers operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in a fast-paced warehousing and shipping environment. You will support engine processing for a major automotive program by preparing engines, performing basic tests, and safely moving and staging product throughout the facility. Responsibilities Perform assembly and disassembly of fully manufactured engines according to established work instructions and quality standards. Remove and reinstall engine components as required for processing and testing. Apply coolant to engines and components as part of the preparation and testing process. Conduct basic leak tests on engines and accurately follow testing procedures. Operate forklifts, tuggers, hi-lo, and/or cherry pickers to move engines and materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. Stage, load, and unload engines and materials for shipping to the designated automotive facility. Work efficiently in a fast-paced warehousing and shipping environment while meeting productivity and safety expectations. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to equipment operating procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area at assigned stations within the facility. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery. Accurately follow shift schedules and be prepared to start on first shift before transitioning to your assigned shift. Perform general production, general labor, and machine operation tasks as needed to support overall operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
