Shift:
1st Shift Job Summary MS Companies is hiring a Team Lead in Lansing, MI to support quality operations within an automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading a team of quality inspectors, managing daily workflow, supporting customer expectations, and helping drive quality, safety, and productivity standards on the production floor. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with previous supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and automotive sewing experience, including seat covers, trim, upholstery, or related automotive textile assembly. Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience leading or supervising employees, preferably a team of 5 or more
  • Automotive sewing experience required, such as seat covers, trim, upholstery, or related automotive textile assembly
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Proven ability to lead a team, drive results, and support customer satisfaction
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to interpret performance data and support process improvements
  • Disciplined approach to managing daily responsibilities
  • Hands-on problem-solving mindset with the ability to lead by example Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Customer service or customer relationship management experience
  • Experience working in quality inspection, manufacturing, automotive, or textile assembly
  • Track record of overcoming challenges and supporting continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage rapid changes, tight deadlines, and evolving quality demands Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of quality inspectors to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer expectations
  • Manage daily workflow, priorities, and team performance on 1st shift
  • Analyze quality and performance data to improve defect detection, reduce rework, and increase efficiency
  • Coach and develop team members to meet quality, safety, and productivity expectations
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and clear communication
  • Identify quality issues quickly and help implement solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with leadership, customer teams, and internal partners to resolve concerns Physical and Environment Requirements Physical expectations and working conditions may include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting as needed, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing or quality environment.
