Job Description

  • Job Title: Press Operator
  • Job Description
  • The Press Operator sets up and runs stamping presses to produce high-quality metal parts in a fast-paced production environment. This role focuses on precise press operation, rigorous quality checks, and maintaining a clean and safe work area in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Operate stamping presses to produce metal parts that meet quality and production standards.

+ Monitor parts during production to identify and address any quality issues, including defective material or parts.

+ Perform regular quality checks on produced parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OSHA safety requirements.

+ Follow production instructions, blueprints, and job specifications to ensure accurate output.

+ Perform additional duties as requested, including shop cleaning and general labor tasks when press machines are down.

+ Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of required personal protective equipment.

+ Support consistent production flow by demonstrating strong attendance, attitude, and work ethic.

  • Essential Skills
  • + Proven experience operating stamping presses in a manufacturing or production environment.

+ Ability to run a stamping press independently and manage production tasks from start to finish.

+ Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely and repeatedly during the workday.

+ Experience reading and using micrometers and calipers for precise measurement and quality checks.

+ Capability to perform own quality inspections on parts produced using appropriate gauges and tools.

+ High school diploma or GED.

+ Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate, defect-free parts.

+ Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic in a high-output production setting.

  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Manufacturing or metal stamping production.

+ Comfort working with blueprints and production documentation.

+ Ability to thrive in a quality-focused environment with minimal tolerance for error.

+ Willingness to perform general labor and shop cleaning tasks as needed.

+ Steel-toed boots or shoes, suitable for a production floor.

+ Positive attitude and willingness to learn and follow established processes.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based in a busy production environment focused on metal stamping and high-quality output, where the margin for error is extremely small.

The schedule follows a first shift, typically 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturdays, and the team is currently working 10-hour days across six days per week. Quality standards are strict, and employees are expected to maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow OSHA safety requirements. The dress code includes steel-toed boots or shoes, jeans, and a T-shirt suitable for tasks that may involve dirt and debris, with no hanging jewelry allowed for safety reasons.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
