Job Title:
Group Leader Production Job Description The primary role of the Supervisor is to oversee and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, ensuring efficient production processes and high-quality output. Responsibilities Recommend measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency. Review operations and collaborate with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems. Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems. Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances. Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records. Essential Skills Verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in business or related field preferred. 2+ years experience as a Supervisor or Group Leader in manufacturing. Leadership development and production supervision skills. Experience in UAW environments is highly preferred. Foundry/metal casting experience is a big plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a metal casting facility and foundry, which is more rugged compared to typical facilities but remains well-maintained. The facility supplies to Tonawanda, NY, focusing on V6 and V8 engine blocks. You will manage hourly UAW team members with training starting on the 1st shift and transitioning to the 2nd shift, with safety training on site. Working hours are from 1:30 pm to 11 pm, including every other weekend as needed, especially closer to product launch. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots, ear plugs, and safety glasses are required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Saginaw, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
