Job Title:
Production Associate Job Description The Production Associate supports the manufacturing and assembly of custom residential windows and door walls in a high-volume production facility. You will work in one of several key areas—Shipping and Receiving, Frames, Sashes, or Doorwall/Casements—and receive ongoing cross-training on different sub-assemblies as you learn and grow within the facility. This role involves hands-on assembly work, frequent lifting, and consistent use of hand tools in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assemble windows and door walls by accurately measuring and cutting vinyl, glass, and other materials according to production specifications. Perform repetitive lifting and moving of materials weighing approximately 10-50+ pounds, depending on the assigned position. Punch holes into materials and strip materials as required for assembly processes. Use hand tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks, including hammering and related operations. Place flexible glass or similar glazing materials onto window and door frames with care and precision. Operate production equipment such as machines, saws, or welding equipment after transitioning to a direct-hire status and receiving proper training. Carry out repetitive physical movements throughout the shift, including grasping, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, twisting, squatting, and standing. Stock materials and maintain a clean, organized workspace and surrounding production areas. Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines to meet quality standards and daily quotas. Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned, with job tasks varying by person and production area. Essential Skills Ability to lift approximately 25-30 pounds repetitively throughout the shift and handle materials up to 50+ pounds depending on the role. Demonstrated experience in previous roles lifting 50 pounds for the majority of a shift (at least 6 out of 8 hours), ideally in a physically demanding environment. Basic knowledge of hand tools, including the ability to safely hold and handle tools such as hammers, with training provided on specific use. Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, quota-driven environment where meeting production metrics is essential. Capability to stand on your feet for the entire duration of an 8-hour shift. Ability to bend, twist, squat, and perform other physical movements repeatedly during the shift. Comfort working in a production, general labor, or assembly setting with tasks such as packing, packaging, lifting boxes, and general production work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read a tape measure is preferred and considered a strong plus. Previous experience in production, assembly, general labor, or similar hands-on roles is beneficial. Familiarity with power tools, packing, and packaging processes is advantageous. Willingness to learn multiple sub-assembly roles across different areas of the facility. Why Work Here? You join a company that invests in your long-term growth through structured, performance-based raises and ongoing cross-training across multiple production areas. Direct employees receive scheduled pay increases every six months for three years, rewarding strong performance and commitment. The culture supports development and learning, offering opportunities to expand your skills and take on new responsibilities over time. Breaks are structured yet flexible, with a relaxed approach to necessary water and restroom breaks as long as production goals are met, helping you balance productivity with personal comfort. Work Environment This role is based inside a manufacturing facility where temperatures fluctuate with the seasons and can be hot, cold, humid, or dry, similar to a large garage environment. The building features very large doors that open for airflow in warm weather, along with fans throughout the facility to help manage heat. The break room is air conditioned, and employees can use it during breaks and lunch; during very hot periods, coolers with Gatorade are provided for everyone. The noise level is moderate, and the facility is well lit. The position follows a Monday-Friday schedule from 5:00 a.m. to approximately 1:30 p.m., with the expectation to stay until the day's work is complete, typically closer to 2:30 p.m., averaging 40-50 hours per week with rare need to exceed 50 hours. Employees receive one 10-minute break in the morning and a 1-hour lunch, and they may leave the premises during lunch. The environment is physically demanding, requiring comfort working in a hot, noisy production setting and standing for the full shift while performing repetitive motions and material handling.
