Address 1444 Alexander Road State MI City Vanderbilt ZIP Code 49795 Shift FirstOverview Our growing company is seeking to hire a Production Operator. As an employee at MEC, you will set-up, adjust and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup detail and operating procedures are standardized and obvious- or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines where operations may involve several progressive machining sequences. A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include: Selects and aligns dies in press according to specifications.

Positions work piece against fixtures or stops on machine bed or on die.

Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.

Regulates air pressure and oil pressure.

Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjusts machine to correct errors.

Generally close tolerance work where dimensional and finish requirements are not difficult to maintain due to nature of tooling and machine setups.

Work usually repetitive and subject to process inspection.

May be required to read part drawings and use adjustable, direct reading and fixed gauges to check work.

Packages parts in appropriate containers.

Cleans and lubricates machines.

Additional duties may be assigned.

One-three years of related experience is preferred.

Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.

Requires a fundamental knowledge of machine shop operations as acquired by short job training and experience.

Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time. This position involves a lot of bending, twisting and lifting.
