Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Technician | Night Shift Team Lead to oversee production activities during the evening shift. This leadership role combines hands-on production responsibilities with team supervision, ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational efficiencies are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will have previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment and demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. This individual will serve as a key resource for team members, helping drive productivity while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Leadership Lead, motivate, and support production team members throughout the shift Provide direction, training, and coaching to employees on production processes and procedures Monitor workflow and staffing levels to ensure production goals are met Assist with employee onboarding and training initiatives Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement Address production concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary Production Operations Operate production equipment and perform manufacturing duties as required Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with customer specifications Assist with setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment Ensure production schedules are completed accurately and on time Maintain accurate production records and documentation Support inventory control and material handling activities Safety & Quality Enforce company safety policies and procedures Conduct routine quality inspections and verify adherence to standards Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements Lead by example in maintaining a culture focused on quality and safety
Qualifications:
Required Previous experience leading, supervising, or directing a team in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment Stable work history demonstrating reliability and commitment Ability to read, write, understand, and speak clear English Basic computer skills and ability to navigate production software and systems Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Preferred Previous manufacturing or production experience Experience with production reporting and documentation Experience training or mentoring employees Knowledge of continuous improvement practices and lean manufacturing principles
Working Conditions:
Manufacturing and production environment Fast-paced setting with multiple priorities and deadlines Frequent interaction with production equipment and team members Regular use of computers, production software, and reporting systems Exposure to noise, machinery, and production activities Evening shift schedule with four 10-hour workdays
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as needed Manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, and computer systems Ability to work safely in a production environment while maintaining focus and attention to detail
