The Opportunity Stillwell is seeking a Machining Assistant to support daily operations within our machining department. This entry-level role is ideal for someone interested in manufacturing who is eager to learn and contribute in a hands-on shop environment. The Machining Assistant will help keep the shop running smoothly by supporting machinists with basic production tasks, assisting with preventative maintenance, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This is primarily a shop-floor role reporting directly to the Machining Manager and offers the opportunity to learn valuable skills in machining, welding, and manufacturing operations over time. This role can be full-time or part-time and may be a great opportunity for someone interested in building a career in manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Support machinists and the machining manager with general shop tasks and daily production needs Assist with unloading laser-cut parts and removing tabs from parts as needed Support overall shop efficiency and maintain shop equipment as needed Monitor and maintain coolant levels and assist with basic preventative maintenance on machines Assist with material handling and movement of parts within the shop Keep the machining area clean, organized, and safe for daily operations Perform light paperwork and production-related tasks as needed Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment Interest in learning manufacturing, machining, or production skills Ability to perform physical work including standing for extended periods and lifting materials as needed Reliable, punctual, and able to take direction from supervisors Ability to work independently and as part of a team Backgrounds in construction, farming, warehouse work, or other labor-intensive roles are welcomed No prior manufacturing experience required; training will be provided

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
