Job Title:
General Production Worker Job Description This role supports the restoration of garbage trucks and cement mixers by preparing vehicles for final painting. You will use industrial sprayers and various hand and power tools to clean and prep trucks, working as part of a small manufacturing team in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist in the restoration process of garbage trucks and cement mixers from initial preparation through to final painting readiness. Use industrial sprayers to thoroughly wash and clean trucks, ensuring all surfaces are properly prepped for paint application. Wear and maintain a rubber protective suit and other required personal protective equipment while working in designated areas. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to support cleaning, preparation, and general production tasks. Perform general production and assembly duties as assigned, including basic machine operation and packaging when needed. Support material handling activities, including operating a forklift if qualified and moving components or equipment as directed. Follow all safety procedures, including the use of eye and ear protection, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with small project teams to complete production and restoration tasks efficiently and on schedule. Stand and perform repetitive production tasks for up to 10-hour shifts while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Essential Skills At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a production, assembly, or general labor environment. At least 6 months of experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for 10-hour workdays. Experience with general production activities such as assembly, packaging, or machine operation. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures. Comfort working in hot conditions while wearing a rubber protective suit. Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools commonly used in construction or manufacturing. Willingness to work with industrial sprayers and cleaning equipment for vehicle preparation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments. Previous exposure to operating forklifts or other material handling equipment. Background in machine operation, packaging, or related production functions. Ability to work effectively in small project teams and communicate clearly with coworkers. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Why Work Here? Standard personal protective equipment, including eye and ear protection, is required at all times in designated areas. The work involves standing for up to 10-hour shifts and performing physically active tasks. Jeans and steel-toed boots are required attire, reflecting the industrial nature of the facility and the emphasis on safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dodge Center, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
