Job Description
ProAmpac is seeking a Production Machine Operator to run and monitor packaging equipment in our flexible packaging facility. In this role, you will set up machines, load materials, and ensure packaging lines operate safely, efficiently, and to quality specifications. You will perform routine adjustments, basic troubleshooting, and quality checks while maintaining accurate production records. Following safety and 5S standards, you'll collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to minimize downtime, meet production targets, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate and monitor production and packaging machines safely and efficiently Set up machines, load materials, and perform changeovers per specifications Perform routine quality checks and record production data accurately Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment and process issues Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5 S/housekeeping standards Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to reduce downtime Inspect finished product for defects and ensure adherence to customer requirements Assist with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives Required Skills Machine operation Mechanical troubleshooting Quality inspection Basic measurements (ruler, calipers, gauges) Production recordkeeping Understanding of safety and PPE requirements5 S/lean manufacturing practices Basic computer/data entry skills Material handling Reading production schedules and work instructions
