Painter/Paint Helper

Job Title:

Painter Helper Job Description The Painter Helper supports the painting process by preparing parts, operating spray equipment, and maintaining an organized work area. This role works closely with the paint department to ensure parts move efficiently through the paint process while meeting quality and safety standards.

Pay:

22-27/hr Responsibilities Prepare parts for painting under guidance using sanding and grinding tools, as well as cleaning agents such as acetone and xylene. Operate a spray gun or HVLP gun to apply paint to parts in accordance with work instructions and quality standards. Read and interpret work orders to understand job requirements and paint specifications. Move materials and parts through each stage of the paint process to maintain a steady workflow. Perform basic visual inspections of painted parts to identify defects or inconsistencies. Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized to support safety and efficiency. Communicate clearly with other members of the department to coordinate tasks and maintain an efficient production process. Essential Skills Experience with paint preparation, including sanding and grinding. Ability to use sanding tools and other hand tools safely and effectively. Comfort operating a spray gun or HVLP gun to paint parts. Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions. Basic skills in visual inspection to check the quality of painted parts. Capability to perform general labor and production tasks in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining an organized workspace. Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a paint or production department. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in paint prep, painting, or industrial coating environments. Familiarity with using acetone, xylene, and similar solvents in a safe manner. Comfort working with production schedules and moving materials through multiple process steps. Willingness to learn new painting techniques and follow established safety procedures. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a new, very organized warehouse facility that supports production and paint operations. The position follows a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., offering a consistent daytime work routine. You will work with sanding tools, hand tools, spray guns, and HVLP equipment, as well as cleaning agents such as acetone and xylene, in a production-oriented setting. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety procedures while handling tools, paints, and solvents. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
